出雲大社～鳥取砂丘
8月15日お盆の真っ只中、夜12時半頃出発。高速を北陸・名神・中国・米子と通り、出雲には8時半頃到着しました。たいした渋滞もなく大鳥居前の道の駅に駐車して、出雲大社に参拝しました。大社内では9時になっており結構混んできました、新しい本殿は屋根の部分しか見えずチョットがっかりでしたが、神楽殿の大しめ縄にはビックリです。
一通り参拝して娘と嫁は、木の鳥居前の、めのや・さきたま-izumo-にて土産を物色、時刻は10時を回っていましたが暑いので堪らず出雲大社前駅のカフェにて、ソフト・ラテ・シェイクをそれぞれ食べてから道の駅へ戻りました。その間、神門通りは渋滞、当然道の駅駐車場も満車になっており、そそくさと出てガソリンを給油して1１時頃出雲を後に無謀にも鳥取砂丘を目指します。
米子から国道9号線を通り正直言って暑さと疲労で朦朧となりながら、また所々道を間違え嫁から罵声を浴びつつ、何とか2時半過ぎに到着しました。駐車場に入り砂丘におりると時間は3時前、気温は最高潮とても砂丘の砂の上に立ってはいられません。サッサと屋内にと砂の美術館へ一人600円を払って入場、建物内はそんなに涼しくもなく汗をかきながら砂の像を拝観し、その後又土産を物色、結局4時近く鳥取を後に国道9号線を花火大会があるとは知らず渋滞の福知山を通過、結局鯖江には9時半過ぎ到着しました。朦朧を通り越してボロボロですぐ風呂とビールを飲んで爆睡しました。
